I would just like to start by saying to Krista and Ed, that it is truly an honor and priviledge to be chosen as your best man. I would also like to thank everyone for coming today, to share this special occasion with Ed and Krista. I know it means a lot to them. I would like to read to you something I have written....Please bare with me folks, the long plane flight gave me alot of time to make this up....(actually it took me a week!)

I’m not much of a poet, which you will soon see,
But I’m asking you all to please, be patient and bear with me.
I’m going to attempt to tell you, as best as I can,
Just why Ed and Krista asked me, to be their best man.

I’ve known Ed for over 20 years, as we hung out around here and there,
I knew him back when he was shorter, had pimples, but no gray Hair! (and I had hair)
We’ve always been good friends, ever since Hicksville Junior High
Where Eddie was on the diving team and I was swimming the butter-fly.

And it seems so long ago, it just occurred to me,
How we used to sit in that famous basement, and play the ATARI.

Things would get much better though, as we started to drive
I once gave Ed a motorcycle lesson so he could learn to ride,
It was scary for a second, when he hit that sand patch,
but in true Eddie Fashion, he recovered nicely, without even a scratch.

As we grew up through the years, all that changed were the toys,
For as you know, we may grow up to be men, but inside we’re still boys.

The hobbies, sports, movies and that old black car,
For where ever one of us would go, the other wouldn’t be far;
He always loved that Ford EXP, it’s too bad it couldn’t make it out to UNLV.

I have many memories from our past, and here are only a few,
Of the more memorable experiences, that I want to share with you.

One day we decided to go out to Stony Brook, But probably should have taken the train.
We took my motorcycle instead, Sorry about that wheelie in the rain.

Then there was that trip to Lake Tahoe, This time I followed for the thrill,
As it started to snow, my bike only made it halfway up that hill.

One night when I needed help, Ed did something forever I will owe,
With no paper or pen, Ed quickly improvised, and drew that famous diagram in the snow.

Our annual trips into New York City, with so much to do and See,
I should have been more careful, When I tried to buy that Fake I.D.
The trips to A/C were always a treat,
At the resorts pool and spa, we would always meet.

But our favorite place is Vegas, Where my yearly treks are filled with adventure, awe
and sometimes a little drama,
Especially one great trip, I took on the Ninja and met up with Ed on his HONDA.

Now I know that this poem has run on, for far too long,
But, I would like to say a few words about Ed, before we move on.
Ed, you’ve always been patient, dependable, loyal and even more,
Gee, the way I talk about him, you would think he were a Labrador.
You’ve grown up to be a hardworking, honest, and good natured man,
I guess I’ll have to excuse the fact, that you used to be a Yankee fan!

But that’s enough about Ed, let’s move on to Krista, his beautiful bride,
It is very apparent to me, just how happy he is, to have you at his side,
Even though we haven’t spent much time together, it wasn’t long before I knew,
Your kindness, compassion and sensitivity, are qualities possessed by few.
Your intelligence, and your judge of character, are two of the reasons why,
I credit you on ending up, with such a genuinely nice guy.

And last, with some marital advice, I’ll bring this poem to an end,
A successful marriage is one, where your wife is also your best friend.
Marriage won’t be perfect, and there may be some fights, but don’t you fear,
Just remember Ed, you can always get the last two words in . . . . YES DEAR.

Please stand now, and join me in a toast to the new Bride and Groom. Krista and Ed, I
wish you all the joy that marriage can bring, and also many many years of happiness.
CHEERS!!!
